1. Answer any one of the following question in about 40-60 words. 2
(a) Which reward did Thimakka receive and for what?

Answer. The trees filled up a void in their lives. And just recently, Thimmakka received the National Citizens Award (for social forestry) from the Prime Minister. IN the 1950s, it was a Thimmakka, who tired of her neighbour's jibes directed at her childlessness hit upon the plan.


2. Answer any one of the following question in about 40-60 words. 2

(ii) Whose blood turned cold like the moon?

Answer. Here author explains her emotions that she no longer feels warn and loved rather she feel desolate like moon. This line is taken from the poem "My grandmother's house" written by Kamala Das. In the poem author expressed her emotions associated with her grandmother's house, where she has spent childhood.


3. Answer any one of the following questions in about 40-60 words. 2
(a) Why did the father write letter to his son?

Answer. In this story, the father writes a letter to his son about how his son disappointed him by slipping from the first rank position to the second rank. No, he had not done the right thing. As the son wanted a normal like and stated that the wisdom not only lies in the studies but also in living life fully.


4. Answer any one of the following questions in about 100 to 150 words. 4

(a) Discuss the character sketch of Gerrard and intruder. Who is more smart between the two and how?

Answer. Well, Gerrard was the active and wise man, who always work by thinking and using the mind. He always considered as intelligent man the way he escaped from intruder was a clear sign of it. 

While the intruder was originally the criminal who came to kill the Gerrard so that he could take his identity but the Gerrard took work with his mind as the result intruder was caught by the police.


5. Answer any one of the following questions in about 100 to 150 words. 4                    (a) What gift had Aradhana’s parents arranged for her? When and why did they gift her?

Answer. Aradhana's parents arranged for her necklace. They wanted to give it to her on the School Annual Day Function because it was her 18th birthday. Aradhana's parents gave her a necklace. They wanted to give it to her on the School Annual Day Function because they were proud of her and also, it was a more appropriate occasion. Aradhana's parents gave her a necklace.


6. Prepare any one project out of the given below: 6
(b) Title – Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel – Bio sketch
Objective-To inculcate writing skills, get inspiration and develop a habit of reading.

Answer. Essay on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel:-

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is also known as the Iron Man of India. He is remembered as a very strong and dynamic freedom fighter of India. He had actively contributed to the India Freedom Movement. Sardar Patel was one of the most eminent and prominent leaders of the Indian Freedom struggle. He has immense contribution in bringing Independence to our country. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was born on 31st October 1875 in Leuva Patel Patidar community in Nadiad known as Sardar Patel. Sardar Patel's father, Zaverbhai Patel, served in the Army of Queen of Jhansi and mother, Ladbai, was inclined towards spirituality. Patel was a very brave character since childhood.

There had been an instance when he treated a painful boil without any hesitation using a hot iron rod. At the age of 22, when everyone completes their graduation Sardar Patel completed his matriculation and due to this everyone thought that he would be doing ordinary jobs. After completing his matriculation, Sardar Patel continued his studies and became a law graduate and later traveled to England to become a barrister. After returning to India he continued practicing law in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

A meeting with M K Gandhi in October 1917 brought him closer to the Indian Independence movement. He joined Indian National Congress and his initial movements started with Satyagraha in Gujarat against British atrocities. Later he actively participated and volunteered the Quit India Movement in 1942 closely working with Gandhi ji.

Sardar Patel had a very strong contribution in uniting the people of India during India Freedon Movements. During this time, he was jailed, many times. The feeling of patriotism and urge to expel out British from Indian Territory became his first and only objective. 

After independence, he played a prominent role in the Integration of India. He persuaded the rulers of princely states to be united and be part of One India -- One Nation, by traveling to far-flung areas and border areas. Initially, after Independence, he was appointed as 1st Home Minister of India and simultaneously the Commander in chef of India Armed Forces.

He also became the 1st Deputy Prime Minister of India. He is among one of the three leaders who led India from 1947 to 1950. Sardar Patel started keeping unwell rapidly since the summer of 1950 and Patel died on 15th December 1950 after suffering a massive heart attack Birla House in Bombay, now Mumbai in Maharashtra, India.

Sardar Patel's contribution to the Indian Freedom struggle has been remarkable and incomparable. He was an immense source of inspiration for the youth of Nation, not only during the Freedom movement but also in the current day. He is being termed as the self-made man in True sense. His ideologies of integration have laid the foundation of Unity. He was conferred as the Bharat Ratna Award posthumously in 1991.
