Answer. (i) Cooperation is an associative process of social interaction which takes place between two or more individuals or groups. (ii) Cooperation is a conscious process in which individuals or groups have to work consciously. (iii) Cooperation is a personal process in which individuals and groups personally meet and work together for a common objective.(iv) Cooperation is a continuous process. There is continuity in the collective efforts in cooperation.
3. Answer any one of the following questions in about 40-60 words. 2 (a) How each status does typically include number of roles? Explain with exmples.
Answer. In all of the many social groups that we as individuals belong to, we have a status and a role to fulfill. Status is our relative social position within a group, while a role is the part our society expects us to play in a gives status. For example, a man may have the status of father in his family.
4. Answer any one of the following questions in about 100 to 150 words. 4 (a) How Pluralism as one of the traditional values prevails in Indian Society? Describe with examples.
Answer. The term culture lag refers to a situation when ideas, values, and norms and beliefs used to regulate social life do not keep pace with change in the technology of society. For example, development of nuclear weapons by a number of nation without and acceptable international system of norms and value to regulate, control and use. In this case, a change in technology yet to develop norms for its use. This is to stay a change in values lags behind the change in the technological field.
5. Answer any one of the following questions in about 100 to 150 words. 4 (a) Distinguish between ascribed roles and achieved roles with examples.
Answer. Ascribed roles: A role that and individual acquires automatically at birth, or on the attainment of certain age. The most universally ascribed role is one's sex role, male or female. Different age levels are also associated with different expectations. Roles based on one's birth as member of particular racial, caste or religious groups are ascribed. Thus in these types of roles, birth is the basic influence, for example traditionally speaking being born in a certain case will imply certain role behaviors as priest's son will train to be a priest.
Achieved role: A role that an individual has because he has either chosen or earned it. It is the result of his efforts and his action. Thus, roles, which are gained by personal efforts , are known as achieved role such as general in the army doctor or engineer and so on.
6. Prepare any on project out of the given below: 6 (a) Under a survey with 10 families in your neighbourhood. Interview 10 males and females whose children are going to school to find out their educational level, working hours and roles and responsibilities. Based on their roles and responsobilities in different settings, make a comparative analysis of the roles of male and female in the family?
