Why is Basant Panchami celebrated?
There is a mythological story behind celebrating every festival. Similarly, a story about Basant Panchami is also very famous. It is said that Lord Brahma created this world. After the creation of the universe, Brahma Ji went out to visit the whole world to see his creation with his eyes. During this journey, he found the world quite calm and depressed, after which he thought of changing it.
With this thinking, Lord Brahma sent a few drops of water into the air from his kamandala and mother Saraswati was born from the tree standing in front. Mother Saraswati was seen holding a veena in her hands. Brahma ji asked him to play something after which he was enchanted after hearing his voice and Charmed.
After this, Brahma Ji urged Maa Saraswati to fill the world with music. Mother obeyed his orders.
It is said that by playing the Veena of the mother, all the creatures of the world get a voice. Since then, she was named 'Saraswati'.
